Making time to exercise every day can be challenging because – LETS FACE IT – LIFE CAN BE BUSY! – Since exercise is important not only for my physical health, but also for my emotional and spiritual health, I do everything I can to FIT FITNESS IN! Today that meant I put on my running shoes, hat and gloves (since it is 19 degrees here today) and after I dropped my daughter off at speech therapy I went for a quick 30 minute jog in the neighborhood around the school.  It was only 30 minutes, but I have found  that even when I cannot get a long workout in, fitting whatever I can in, keeps me on track and motivated to do more the next day! 

Fitting fitness in requires being creative with your time. I once dropped our van off for an oil change, and went for a jog while the van was being worked on.  I had an hour and I did not want it to go to waste, so that was my exercise time. Study your schedule for the day and plug your workout time in.  Figure out what form of exercise you most enjoy doing.  Do you like going to the gym or do you prefer to workout at home or outside?   Are free weights your thing or do you like to follow a dance routine on a video?  Does  fresh air invigorate you and encourage you to move? Perhaps you find satisfaction and inspiration in team sports? Do whatever it takes to get you excited and motivated to workout! I personally love to be outside as much as I can, but I also appreciate variety.  Doing what I enjoy physically – keeps me excited about working out each day!  I also LOVE THE WAY I FEEL after I workout!  Nothing beats it! God gave us one body and he wants us to take care of it.  Do what you can today to FIT FITNESS IN!

    I think we could be friends! I like your blog and we share the same interests. I run for my sanity and it is prayer time. I have 5 also and am happy I don’t have to get up 5:30 am anymore to squeeze in exercise. I run now after they leave for school. It can be hard to fit it in, but it is not just good for your body but your SOUL! And yes, it’s time to plant some lettuce. I will be following you now. Thanks for your blog.
